Mark your calendars: The Facing Project’s five-year celebration is November 20th!

In the last five years we’ve seen some amazing growth. We’ve expanded the model into 100 communities, we’ve become a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (official as of 6/30/16!), and we’ve worked with students across the country to create college chapters of The Facing Project. As we’ve grown, the one thing that’s remained the same is our mission of connecting people through stories to strengthen communities. So on November 20th we’re celebrating with our first-ever fundraiser to help get The Facing Project to the next level.
Currently, it takes $1,000 to $10,000 to run a Facing Project (book costs, theater production, community events, and spin-off projects). Up to this point, the organization has been funded from personal donations from the co-founders, Kelsey Timmerman and J.R. Jamison, as well as monies put forth by the communities that have adopted the model. At this time we are 100% volunteer operated.
The November 20th fundraising event will seed the project with the necessary funds to assess our impact and give us the data, and leverage, to go after large national grants. Ultimately, we want to help offset communities’ book publishing costs and fund spin-off initiatives that result from their projects.
If you are inspired by the mission of The Facing Project or it has changed your life in some way, we invite you to take part in writing the next chapter of our story. Learn more about the event and how to donate at www.classy.org/facinglaunch.
