Coaches & Editors: How to edit a Facing Project story

“Change starts with a single story.”

That quote seems like it should be attributed to some wise titan of history, but we actually just made it up. Still, we believe it. Each story has the potential to change a life in a community or the community as a whole. We want each of them to live up to their full potential. That’s why we have our team of coaches and editors in place. That’s you! Thanks!

We receive thousands of stories each year for our editors to review, so please follow the steps below

1) Coaches, communities should grant you permission to edit their Google Drive folder.  Invite editors to the folder. Some communities may prefer to work in DropBox or through email. If so, we trust you’ll figure out some system on your own to get the stories to editors and back to the communities. We prefer Google Drive, hence the following instructions. Not familiar with Google Drive? Here’s a quick tutorial.

2) Editors, make edits in Google Doc’s “Suggesting” mode. Not sure what that is? It’s like Office’s “Track Changes” mode. Still not sure, here’s a guide to help you.

3) Once all of your edits are made notify the coach, and you are all done!

4) Coaches, once all the edits are done, notify your community.
