Feature Story of the Week: We Are All the Same

Amber’s story is a tale of hardship and challenges. As she grows up in a poor household, she begins to recognize the differences between her family and others. Through a church Amber’s family was given something invaluable: Love. Now at 26, she does the same for others facing similar stories as her own.

We like this story because it features individuals who care and love for others regardless of their differences. A church rallied around young Amber and her family.

I had adult women who showed an interest in me. They came to my school programs. I didn’t realize until later that some who were part of the church – and who still belong – are well off financially. I never saw a difference.  Now at age 26, I realize that was a true gift given to me by all the adults in my life who gave me unconditional love.
